Houstons’ Rock 103.7FM (Formerly 97.5)

Houston’s top rock jock, the notorious Outlaw Dave and Texas Bluesrocker Mean Gene Kelton have joined forces to celebrate Outlaw Dave’s triumphant return to the airwaves at a monster Welcome Back party to be held at the Tiki Bay Bar & Grill in Baytown, Texas on Friday, May 20 starting at 3pm.

For years, Outlaw Dave was the King of Afternoon Drive Time on Houston’s #1 rock station, KLOL. On November 12, 2004 without warning, KLOL changed its format to Hispanic music. Outlaw Dave and all the other famous radio personalities suddenlyfound themselves cast into exile.

Thousands of outraged fans petitioned KLOL to return to it’s original rock ‘n roll format that had existed for nearly thirty years.

KLOL refused! The voices of the rock and roll army were heard and an all new rock radio station was created. On May 3rd, 2005, Outlaw Dave returned to the airwaves and reclaimed his position as King of Afternoon Drive Time on KIOL Rock 97.5 FM.

The welcome back party will feature Outlaw Dave broadcasting live on location for seven hours starting at 3pm. The entire 97.5 crew including Jim Pruett, Wendy Miller, Locke Sebenhausen and many high profile rock ‘n roll and media celebrities are expected to be there as well. There will be a lot of surprises and radio station giveaways.

Live music will include the Cleveland Steamers performing from 5pm -7pm. Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards will perform their own trademark brand of high energy, houserockin’ Texas blues and and southern-fried rock ‘n roll from 7pm-9pm.

Not only is Outlaw Dave Houston’s top rock jock, he is a biker often seen at all the major Texas motorcycle rallies. His radio show has a massive biker listening audience.

It was only natural for Houston’s top biker-rock jock to join forces with one of Texas’ favorite biker rally bands, Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards. Kelton has six #1 songs, including his biker rally favorite “My Baby Don’t Wear No Panties”.

Special guests appearing on Mean Gene Kelton’s set will be his two rock ‘n roll sons, Jamie and Sid Kelton, who now perform with their own highly successful rock band, Driven. Other special guests include the dynamic Monica Marie and her guitar slingin’ husband Tony Lee. Also performing is Austin, Texas bass player Larry Dobbs, and powerhouse drummer Russell “The Steamroller” Shelby.

The masses are invited to come out and party like heathens at Outlaw Dave’s Welcome Back Party - Friday, May 20 at Tiki Bay Bar & Grill in Baytown, Texas, (a biker friendly establishment).
