MILD MANNERED RETIREE GOES CRAZY – RUNS AWAY WITH THE MUSIC CIRCUS!

(Houston, Texas October 3, 2006) After punching the clock for 37 years on a day job, most men would be ready to sit back and enjoy their retirement, but not DuPont Chemical Company retiree, Buddy Brewer. “I’m finally free to pursue my love of the music business full time”, he says. “I feel like a kid who ran away to join the circus… the music circus”!

Buddy’s new music circus duties includes putting on a different kind of hat for his new position as National Promotion Director for Houston based Bluesrock record label, JamBone Records.

“I am very excited to be involved in the behind the scenes part of the music industry”, says Buddy. “It’s the perfect job! I have always loved music. Especially the blues! Now I get to listen to music all day and talk to other people just like me who also love music! Like Gene’s song says, “I love my job”!

Buddy will be in charge of promoting the music recordings of JamBone Records recording artist, blues/rocker, Mean Gene Kelton, to broadcast, webcast, and podcast stations around the world, setting up “live” telephone interviews and making sure that DJs are kept current on the events of Kelton’s career.

Buddy understands the needs of radio DJs. The former Houston Blues Society Vice-Presiden serves as an on air volunteer DJ with various programs on Houston’s non-profit, public radio station KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston. http://www.kpft.org. His “on air” name is “Buddy Love”.

As a fan of “live” music, Buddy has always fed his music addiction by planning his vacations around music festivals across the nation. Name the festival and chances are, Buddy has probably been there. Back home, Buddy enjoys visiting the many live music hot-spots that a city the size of Houston has to offer. It was one one of these outings back in 1997 that Buddy met guitar slinger Mean Gene Kelton.

Buddy’s friendship with Kelton eventually landed him a position as Kelton’s road manager where he learned first hand about life behind the scenes in the music business: i.e. driving all night long jacked up on truckstop coffee, sleeping in the floor in cheap hotels, surviving “gigs from hell”, loading band equipment in the pouring down rain, keeping crazy women off the stage and coordinating autograph sessions with a frenzied crowd! On numerous occasions, he has served as personal bodyguard for Mrs. Kelton (Even Meaner Joni). Through it all, Buddy Brewer never meets a stranger.

DJs worldwide are encouraged to contact fellow DJ and music lover Buddy Brewer for CDs, EPKs, radio promos, or to set up a phone interview with Mean Gene Kelton.

With seven #1 songs on various independent charts, Mean Gene Kelton’s high energy, houserockin’ Texas Blues and Southern-Fried Rock ‘n Roll is currently being played on stations worldwide with rave reviews. Kelton’s website recently celebrated over ONE-MILLION LISTENS! That track record of public interest guarantees you that your listeners will appreciate hearing Mean Gene Kelton on your station.
