(Houston, Texas - June 24, 2007) Bluesrocker Mean Gene Kelton has rejoined the ranks with ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ted Nugent, Santana and many others by signing on for a second term as an endorser with world famous GHS Guitar Strings. Details of the agreement are not made public but both parties seem happy to be wearing each others colors for a second term.
Kelton first came to the attention of GHS Guitar Strings when a talent scout for the company attended a Mean Gene Kelton Show in Houston in 2004. Within days, Kelton was contacted by GHS Guitar Strings headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan and the rest is history.
During the period of the original agreement, Kelton garnered a seventh #1 song,“I Love My Job” from the CD Mean Guitar, on the Texas based “Texas Top 40” Independent Music Chart. Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards also wore the title of The Official Biker’s Atlas Band two years in a row for 2004 and 2005.
Chris Walters, Director of Artist Relations at GHS Guitar Strings comments, “GHS Guitar Strings are made to withstand all playing styles. We are proud to have Texas Bluesrocker, Mean Gene Kelton, back with us for another term an official GHS Guitar Strings Endorser and hope that he stays with us many more years.”
“I am proud to be associated with a great company like GHS Guitar Strings. I’d use GHS Guitar Strings even without an endorsement agreement.”
